Livestock keeping
We keep cattle, goats, sheep and pigs, and run poultry farming with chickens, ducks, Muscovy ducks, turkeys and guinea fowl. Animals are reared for meat, milk and eggs, with feed produced in our own mill.
Services · What we offer
Seven lines of business, one supply chain
We work at every stage: inputs into the ground, crops and livestock off the land, processing into packed product, and distribution to market.
01
Importation and selling of fertilizers
We are licensed dealers for importing and selling subsidized and non-subsidized fertilizers — including UREA, DAP, NPK, SOP, MAP, MOP, SA and boosters. Stock is held at our Mlandizi stores and distributed through our sales centres.
02
Cultivation of crops
We cultivate rice paddy, maize, sunflower, lentils, horticultural crops and fruits. Our farms run under irrigation schemes supported by dams and ponds we built ourselves, which lets us plant beyond the rains.
03
Agro-processing
We add value through milling, cleaning, grading and packaging. Our plant at Mlandizi dehusks rice paddy, then grades, polishes and packs rice in weights from 5 kg to 100 kg. A second multifunction plant produces animal, chicken and fish feeds.
And four more
Livestock, fish, inputs and trading
Aquaculture
We farm fish and sell fresh fish from ponds and cages at the Kitomondo JJ ACL farm, and from HDPE and metal cages on Lake Victoria in Mwanza.
Agricultural inputs
Our input shop supplies high-quality certified seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, insecticides, herbicides and modern farming equipment, including hand sprayers.
Crop and livestock products trading
Sustainable trading of staple and cash crops for local and international markets. We also sell fresh milk, fermented milk, yoghurt, chickens and eggs.
Beyond supply
Advisory, veterinary and demonstration farming
Kilimo Darasa
Demonstration farming on our own land, so farmers can see practice before they commit their season to it.
Crop & animal health
Our centre offers medication services for crops, domestic birds and animals, with pharmaceuticals, vaccines and veterinary equipment available.
Consultancy
We investigate problems affecting crops and animals and advise on solutions — available to customers on request.
